Lapp Group launched its brand new ÖLFLEX® WIND cable at the Husum Wind Energy show in Germany in September.

With this cable, Lapp Group is responding to the needs of the builders of wind power stations.

The ÖLFLEX® WIND was specially designed for the crossover from the nacelle in the tower, which is subject to high torsional forces. Below are the special highlights of the new ÖLFLEX® WIND:

• Torsion-resistant up to +/- 150°/m

• Temperature range from -40°C to +90°C

• Halogen-free, highly flame-retardant

• UL/CSA style

• Suitable for up to 1000V

• Easy assembly

Particular attention was paid to ease of assembly in the development of the ÖLFLEX® WIND. Thanks to a special sheath compound, it is now considerably easier to remove the sheath or strip the conductors.

In addition to this new product, Lapp Group also presented some of its UL/CSA-listed connection and control cables. These will ensure the acceptance of the North American market. Examples are the ÖLFLEX® CONTROL M, TM and TM-CY, which are approved for ER (Exposed Run) and do not have to be routed in enclosed systems (according to NFPA 79, Edition 2007).
