Tap Into The Sun
Lapptherm® Solar
![]() |
The energy potential of the sun is almost inexhaustible…..at least 4 billion years, experts estimate. The amount of solar energy arriving on the earth’s surface exceeds by 10,000 to 15,000 times the average daily consumption and this is a major reason why photo-voltaic applications have become such an important factor in the area of renewable energy and has influenced a major boom in this business sector.
The Lapp Group has set up an intensive co-operation with users within the "renewable energy" sector and has set innovation and future orientation as its target in this field. Through permanent ongoing development of the components used within these systems, a more efficient use of photo-voltaic effect and solar irradiation will become possible. Lapp Group offers a complete product range, which has been specifically customised for the photo-voltaic sector. These products are designed to offer complete cabling solutions from the roof to the cellar. If you have an application where solar cells are connected with each other, or with the terminal box and the inverter, with due regard to all installation restrictions, then we can offer you the optimum solution for all situations.
Did you know that the selection of the materials for the insulation and outer sheath of a cable is of vital importance? In order to transmit electrical currents theoretically only a copper conductor is required and the insulation and outer sheath merely serve as handling protection. However, particularly in outdoor applications, this protection is exposed to highly demanding weather conditions, UV-rays, Ozone and a high variation in temperature. The excellent temperature properties of our solar cables of, up to +120oc, are able to cope easily with weathering through permanently high temperatures and, as a consequence, they can be installed in hot areas anywhere around the world. This also applies to UV resistance: The reliability of the materials we use avoids pre-ageing through becoming brittle and the potential for a breakdown of the cable. Further advantages, such as tinned conductors, cross-linked materials and additional reinforcements, results in better durability and a longer shelf life.

All common conductor cross sections can be inserted easily to give waterproof results. The connector and couplers snap in with an audible click and provide a connection with an IP67 rated seal. They can be re-opened as required without the need for special tools. All of this is available with the renowned quality of Lapp and with the enhanced resistance to UV radiation, weathering and temperature. Having the cable, connectors and know how we can harness the plug and play solution you require.
is the perfect connection between Lapptherm® Solar and the panel.
