Job Title: Business Development Managers
Reporting to: Managing Director
Objectives: Develop and execute market strategies to promote Lapp Group products to new selected industry sectors. To achieve greater penetration into existing markets through industry mapping and planned project function. Developing market potential and market topography through developing the functions of Lapp.
Principal duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Activity
• Assimilating information on potential industries by means of industry mapping.
• Identify specific industries to be targeted and “drive” sales alongside regional sales resources.
• Specifically target project sales to large end users, consulting engineers and other influencers.
• To make regular calls (also cold) to Protel leads (or equivalent) to sell portfolio of Lapp Products.
• Lead the way for other sales resources in respect of solution/specification sales.
Key Product Focus and Technical Knowledge
• Through internal and external training acquire and maintain complete knowledge concerning our range of products and the service we offer.
• Market assessment of new group products and their potential, supply of qualified leads, training and product introduction packs to sales staff.
• Maintain up to date information concerning our competitor’s products and services/pricing policies and provide the Marketing Department with all the relevant information.
Project Management
• Creation and implementation of internal structures for project selection based on company and product strengths and efficient mechanisms for communicating and reporting these.
• Selling & acquiring of projects/solution sales through management of project lead tools.
• Development of project sales and tracking system as well as an internal structure for managing projects from lead to completion.
National Account Development
• Working with the Regional Sales resources to develop commercial relationships with existing and potential national accounts to the benefit of the company as a whole.
• Working with Global Accounts to develop commercial relationships with existing and potential international accounts to the benefit of the Lapp UK & Ireland and Lapp Group as a whole.
Product Specification
• Securing specification of Group products in existing and new industries through product presentations and utilisation of designer database.
• Working with Group companies to achieve new specifications in focus industries.
